San Giovanni mine (Punta della Torre, from Iglesias to Gonnesa) is an important Pb/Zn/Ba mine of Iglesiente area. It is famous amongst collector especially for calcite and baryte

Scalenohedral twinning, part of a group of XX up to 11 cm long. Calcite is brown for iron impurities and surfaces of XX are covered by small other XX. From this famous mine, closed in 1997

Smithsonite
Smithsonite after intergrown calcite XX. I find this piece interesting because the calcite XX are empty and the 2nd mineral has replaced the external part of the calcite XX with the rhombs, typical for smithsonite. The smithsonite XX are small (approx 0,1cm long) but well defined as you can see from the 2nd photo. It is classic piece from this locality
