Assemini, San leone mine. Iron mine (magnetite ore bodies hosted into skarn; closed in 1963)

XX up to 5.5cm long, covered by a coating of limonite. It is a typical sample from this mine

Siderite ("mesitine" ?)
Group of delicate white XX up to 2.1cm long. The  geode with this mineral seems to be exausted, after the last finding of 2005. Some one classify this piece as mesitine but bibliografy reports a different story; mesitine is a variety of ferroan magnesite, like the breunnerite n.36 you can see in the other section devoted to Italian minerals (I maintain some doubts about this piece...)

Another piece of mesitine/siderite; white XX, up to 3 cm wide, are covered by a brown coating. Some small calcite XX (see the one in the bottom of picture) with typical hexagonal shape
